Respite Services/CILA

Respite Care

This program allows the primary caregiver time away from the developmentally disabled person by providing short term care by qualified individuals. Care can be given in-home or in a nearby facility. There is no fee for in-home care. Social Security benefits supplement the costs of out-of-home respite. This program is available for Lawrence or Crawford County residents who have developmental disabilities and live at home. Actual provision of service depends upon the availability of service providers and funding limitations. When a request cannot be met by the L/CAEC Respite Program, every effort will be made to link families with alternate resources.
